I just went back to see how far I would get into it...B&B??? ROFLMFAO!!!!!! This person obviously has no idea what goes into keeping a B&B running, especially in the 1800's. There was no pleasure in it back then.

I don't usually read long posts and read only about the first lines, but the part of "dreading the work day" made me think that I too would dread getting up to face cleaning more motel rooms and washing more windows. That would be enough to get my but into college!

Do You Believe in Sanctuary Cities?

as a permanent residence to the usa having had to go through immigration meetings, medical tests, means tests and a pretty good dose of fear - it bothers me that the same city that i had to go to for my hearing, past armed guards to prove my worth, wants illegals to come out of the woodwork and take advantage of the services the city has to offer, with a promise that they won't be rounded up or harmed in any way.
i don't seem to understand this system at all - i feel penalized somehow for doing what was right yet, i can still feel badly for those who are scared while here illegally.

I think I saw that film in one of my sociology classes. It's very sad and shows clearly what life is like here in the U.S. for illegals. It's HELL for a lot of them. All they want is a better life. A lot of them don't get it here, either. And it's not the government people who are coming over the border. It's the citizens who are mistreated so badly.

Yes, it will work itself out. Let 'em spew racism if it helps them exercise their lungs. The second and third generations are completely Americanized and American mostly by birth. See? It's just the first generation that really needs the help and the second and third will carry their own and enrich our country. In the mean time, America can continue to learn that we aren't the only country on this planet. We live in a global market and to make the most of it, we need to be all inclusive (ok, not including the ones that want to kill us).

The elders in my hall were/are so lazy. You could do anything and not get busted. I don't know. I've done everything but was not associating when I was doing it. That could be why I'm not bothered. If I went back now, who knows if they would do anything. They are just so lazy.

I would guess that it would depend on whether or not they actually want you back or have a grudge against you. In my case, they don't want me back so they don't bother with me. I lit into a sister that came last year to get me to go to the memorial. I really let her have it. No one has been back since.

For the X-tians: "I want mercy not sacrifice."--Jesus. In other words, quit doing for Jesus before you've done for your fellow man and your enemies. Love your enemies. Work love toward all. You can't pick and choose. You must work good toward ALL! That is a true X-tian. Maybe some are not so Christ like after all. Preaching is cheap and that is why I'm not a Christian. I can't stomach the hippocracy. It's such a farce.
